Here’s a blast from the past. In April 2008, I did several wanders into the desert around Lancaster with my kids. I recently recovered these images from a storage drive that failed.
These would be some of my last Southern California explorations before moving to the wilds of Northern Alabama. We explored 3 sites on this trip before the winds came up so strongly that they created a dust storm. The houses were all within sight of each other but not part of the same farm. In each case, they appear to have been departed in haste (foreclosed).
Looks like this is the first post in a while. I'm interested in exploring something abandoned this week in LA. I was thinking the Hotel Barbizon in downtown. I'd love to meet other urbexers, especially seasoned ones. I've only been a few times and never in a highly urban area like downtown LA. If you're interested in going somewhere, let me know!
Folks, due to the influx of Russian Spambots in the community, I've changed the settings. All membership adds and posts are now moderated. We haven't been getting much 'business' in this community of late, so this shouldn't be an inconvience except to the SPAMers.
Searching out abandoned things started as a young boy when i first visited old indian ruins in Colorado. Plus i find older architecture more visually pleasing. More interesting to me though is the link between lost treasures of the past and paranormal activity. I have some experience with spiritual contact, and what is known as Urban Spelunking, a term that i thought i had come up with before i heard that i was beaten to the punch. I have been to and abandoned mental hospital in socal a year back and the section of Old town Yorba Linda that was abandoned, which i'm pretty sure is or is slowly being teared down. Black Star canyon ofcouse is a givin, but what im looking for is something not so touched. Some place when maybe on of you has even done a spiritual investigation. I know the disclosure of this information puts it at risk, but i dont know how to asure you that i intend the utmost descreteness and respect of the information. I live in Orange and am not afraid to meet or go with anybody. Any info would be cool. CombaticusCarl@gmail.com I think you can guess my name is carl
Hi I just stumbled upon this group & would love to know if anyone knows easily accessible abandoned buildings in the SF Valley, specifically Burbank, Glendale or NoHo, for a photo shoot. Any & all ideas are welcome... thanks in advance!!!
I am looking for an abandoned mansion or something of the like for a music video I am shooting. Would love to find something near the woods or mountains or something with great exteriors and interiors. Thank you to anyone who can help. If you don't want to post anything publicly just let me know and I will give you my personal email. I live in Los Angeles so the closer to here, the better.
Does anyone know of an abandoned building in Downtown/Central LA? I'm directing a music video and really need a great location. Ideally, the place would have roof access with a view of the LA city lights, but I think I can cheat this if anyone just knows of a building with long halls and winding stairs. PLEASE HELP!
Hows it goin. I'm new to this and looking for some really good info. I live in the south east San Bernardino county area, and I'm in need of some locations to have a series of photo shoots. I mainly want warehouses or suburban locations. To be more specific I'm doing zombie shoots and need places with a good amount of running area for some chases. I'd greatly appreciate some help!
